100% Syrah - Granitic slopes
Aged for twelve months : 20% in new oak – 40% in one year old barrels – 40% in two
years old barrels.
It was several years I wanted to make a Crozes-Hermitage.. In 2009, everything was put
together to allow me to do it. I use four different terroirs located in Gervans and Larnage.
These are the best slopes of Crozes Hermitage.
The Rhone Valley shouldn’t be cut into two. It should be cut into three; the region of Hermitage
is hotter than the Cote Rotie and more tempered than the Mediterranean part of
the valley. It is a climate on its own and our Crozes represents really well what this micro
climate is. The wines here have a perfect combination between the full ripening and the
finesse brought by the granitic soils. From these fabulous slopes, the style makes think to
a Hermitage and recall that this is the original home of syrah. Please taste and discover.
Soot, blackberry, laurel, peat.
Bottled without filtration.
