At Monthélie the first traces of vineyards date back to the 9th century. Situated between Volnay, Meursault and Auxey-Duresses, this village often remains unnoticed by the visitor on a journey from Volnay to Meursault, for many do not stop here in spite of the attractive old houses to be seen. There is also a Romansque church typical of medieval Burgundy, and a castle dating back to the year 1000. Bourchard owns three vineyards with complementary exposures (east, south and west) for a total surface area of 5.94 hectares.
Rich aromas of different berry fruits. Perfumed an willowy on the palate, the wine expresses a delicate softness. Good ageing potential.
