This wine is made from one of the oldest vines of Somló. It is a west facing slope, showing another flavors profile, then the Teraszok vineyards. When tasting Öregtőkék, I believe one needs more sips to understand the complexity of the plot. Amazing backbone of acidity is backed with creaminess. Flavors of ripe stone fruits, spiced up with salty citrus notes. Fermentation was spontaneous and the wine was aged in 500l old cask and a part in smaller barrels as well. Lees contact was for 6 months. Great match with creamy dishes, cooked ham, fish or seafood dishes.
